The client is a Houston-based science coaching center focused on helping middle and high school students, including homeschoolers, gain a deeper understanding of scientific principles. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and modern teaching methods, the center wanted to bridge the gap between traditional classroom teaching and technology-driven learning experiences.
They were looking for a long-term digital solution that could enhance engagement, reduce reliance on physical labs, and offer safe yet immersive science education—accessible from anywhere.
The primary objective was to create a mobile application that could bring core scientific concepts to life using Augmented Reality. The app needed to deliver interactive 3D content for biology, chemistry, and physics topics, simulate experiments virtually, and support concept retention through quizzes. It also had to be mapped to school-level curricula and cater to varying academic levels without compromising ease of use.
App Vertices took a user-centric and agile approach to build the AR Learn Lab app. We began by understanding the curriculum standards, user behavior, and the teaching environment of the coaching center. Our development team collaborated closely with the educators to ensure the scientific content was accurate, age-appropriate, and aligned with educational outcomes.
Using our in-house expertise in AR, UI/UX design, and mobile app development, we delivered an intuitive platform that allowed students to visualize complex science topics in 3D, run safe virtual experiments, and receive voice-guided walkthroughs. Each feature was designed to support hands-on learning without requiring physical lab equipment.
The AR Learn Lab app was successfully launched as a scalable MVP and rolled out to students across the coaching center. Within the first three months, the app recorded high engagement rates and positive feedback from both students and parents. Users found it easier to grasp difficult topics, and teachers noticed increased class participation and knowledge retention.
The coaching center reported a 40% improvement in student performance during internal assessments, and plans are now in place to expand the app for statewide use and offer subscription-based access to other educational institutions.
