Netty Bell, a US-based clothing and apparel brand founded by entrepreneur Annette Bell, is known for its unique bell-inspired T-shirts and fashion wear. Following the success of the brand’s eCommerce website, Annette envisioned extending her reach to a wider audience by creating a mobile-first shopping experience that reflected the brand’s vibrant personality. 

Overview

Netty Bell was built on the philosophy of “Coming together to get our Ding Dong on!”—a brand that celebrates unity, creativity, and style. Recognizing the growing demand for mobile shopping, Annette partnered with App Vertices to develop a dedicated mobile application that would expand her brand’s digital footprint across the US while maintaining consistency with the existing website. 

The Challenge

With the brand’s rapid growth, the challenge was to build a modern, feature-rich mobile app that could stand out in the competitive US fashion eCommerce market. The app needed to combine visual appeal, user-friendly navigation, and personalized shopping features while ensuring smooth integration with Netty Bell’s existing eCommerce platform. 

Our Solution

After conducting extensive market research and customer surveys, our team gained a deep understanding of Netty Bell’s target audience and digital goals. We developed a cross-platform eCommerce app with a clean, brand-aligned interface, advanced personalization, and a seamless shopping flow.

User Flow Research

We began by analyzing the Netty Bell website and leading competitor apps to identify user goals, browsing patterns, and purchase behaviors. Our design team then mapped out the user journey for first-time and returning customers, ensuring a frictionless shopping experience. 

Using Miro, we developed low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the app’s structure and crafted a strategic roadmap for UX enhancements aligned with the buyer journey on the website. 

Design System

To maintain brand consistency, the app design system was adapted directly from Netty Bell’s website. Key elements such as color palettes, font families, and brand imagery were incorporated. A reusable UI component library was built using Figma—covering buttons, input fields, animations, navigation, and other UI elements—to accelerate development and maintain a cohesive design language. 

Responsive design was a priority, so a grid-based layout was implemented to ensure smooth performance across devices. Detailed design documentation was created for the client’s future reference. 

Low-Fidelity Design

We began with wireframe sketches to establish the overall layout and functionality, mirroring the website experience on smaller screens. The low-fidelity designs were reviewed with the client, leading to iterative adjustments in user flow and element placement to enhance usability. 

High-Fidelity Design

Following approval, the team created pixel-perfect high-fidelity mockups in Figma, incorporating finalized colors, typography, animations, and actual brand content. We then built a fully interactive prototype, which was tested and refined based on the client’s feedback before being handed off for development.
